2022, HD video, color, sound, 06:32

In January, 2022, in Xuzhou, China, a video of a mentally disturbed woman, unlawfully imprisoned and chained to a wall, went viral on China's internet. The woman, who had given birth to eight children, sparked a huge public outcry. Despite repeated censorship, posts about her were continuously reposted until the public anger reached its peak.

This is a desktop film searching for the archives—or lack thereof—of trafficked women in China. How does one tell the stories of those who have been systematically erased, whose lives leave no trace in the official records? This film confronts the challenge of navigating absence, attempting to reconstruct voices that have been silenced and histories that have been deliberately forgotten.
